Jon Najarian founded Mercury Trading in 1989, after beginning his financial career in 1981 at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Because his football career was so brief, little is known about it. He ran his company, Mercury Trading, for over 15 years before selling it to Citadel in 2004.
He also founded 1010WallStreet.com in 1991, which is a financial news site for serious traders, and later that same year, Jon was the chief market strategist at PTI Securities. In the year 1991, he and his brother co-founded the securities and futures firm.
Najarian also worked as a business anchor for Fox Television Chicago and First Business. This show used to be broadcast in 160 markets across the country. He also co-founded optionMONSTER.com with his brother Pete, where he publishes the trademarked HeatSeeker, proprietary, and DepthCharge research.
