Victoria Tristan, a 21-year-old Texas mother, was arrested and charged with causing harm to a child, a first-degree crime, on June 22, 2022, after her newborn drowned in the bathtub. According to People News, Victoria Tristan reportedly left her infant unsupervised in the bathtub of their Round Rock condominium on January 18, resulting in their death. According to the affidavit, Tristan was texting when the youngster perished. Tristan reportedly let the water run while her kid was in the bathtub, according to the Daily Beast. She is said to have texted relatives before falling asleep and allowing the youngster to drown. According to reports, she had been sleeping for at least 10 minutes before discovering the youngster unresponsive underwater. She informed officials that she tried CPR but it didn’t work.

The infant’s death was considered an accident in an initial autopsy report by the Travis County Medical Examiner. However, the case was investigated by authorities, and Victoria Tristan was arrested 5 months after her kid died. According to People News, police concerns were raised when detectives studied Tristan’s mobile phone data and internet usage. She apparently texted for 5 minutes while her kid was in the shower, then went inactive for 8-10 minutes.

According to the Daily Beast, Victoria Tristan searched YouTube for 4 minutes before phoning 911, reportedly to figure out how to rescue her child, who had been found drowned in the overflowing bathtub. According to police, although Victoria Tristan had no malicious intent, her claimed carelessness was the principal cause of the child’s death. She is being held at the William County jail. Authorities have not yet released any information on her counsel or plea. She is now being jailed on a $300,000 bond.
