Julee Cruise Passed Away At The Age Of 65

Julee Cruise

Julee Cruise, best known for her collaborations with film director David Lynch in the late 1980s and early 1990s, died at the age of 65. Her spouse, Edward Grinnan, survives her. They married in 1988 and lived in both Manhattan and Berkshire. Her spouse made the announcement on his Facebook page, writing,

“I felt those of you who go back may be interested to hear that I bid farewell to my wife, Julee Cruise, today.” She walked out from this world on her own terms. There are no regrets. She is content. She frequently said that the time she spent as a B standing in for Cindy while she was having a family was the greatest moment of her performance life.”

Grinnan went on to say,

“She will be eternally thankful to them.” When she first took the stage with Fred and Kate, she compared it to joining the Beatles. She will always adore them and remember their global journeys together. During her transformation, I played her Roam. She will now wander indefinitely. My darling, rest in peace, and love to you all.”

Falling, with music by Badalamenti and words by Lynch, was her most successful single. The instrumental version of the song was used as the opening theme for the mystery serial drama television series Twin Peaks. She also appeared on the program as a bar singer, and her song was included in the show and on the soundtrack. Between 1989 and 2011, she published four albums. Her debut album was named Floating Into the Night, and it contained the song Falling, which reached the 11th spot on the US Modern Rock chart in 1990. That year, she sang the song on Saturday Night Live.

Following that, Cruise returned to Twin Peaks for its third season in 2017. She made an appearance while singing The World Spins. In 2018, she published Three Demos, an EP that included the original demo versions of her most popular pieces, including Falling, Floating, and The World Spins.
