Mick Jones sat down with Loudersound in 2014 and discussed everything from his great career to his personal life. Jones is best known as the main guitarist, co-lead vocalist, cofounder, and composer for the iconic rock band Foreigner. He composed some of the late 1970s’ most popular songs, but ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ is perhaps his most renowned ballad. Jones told Loudersound that, although ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ was not directly impacted by any lady in his life, he did recollect his encounters with many women when creating songs.
The vocalist was a female magnet and had a good time on the field as a member of the most popular rock band. The rocker, who is a romantic at heart, used to fall in love easily, but he quickly understood that settling down and marriage was not for him.

“After three marriages, I suppose I’m done.” I’m not married right now. And, although I feel marriage is a great institution, it doesn’t work when you spend more time with your instrument than with your wife and family,” Jones said.
Mick Jones and Dexter-Jones
Jones’ first marriage is unknown, however, the singer married his second wife, Ann Dexter-Jones, a jewelry designer, in 1985. The pair met when Ann was negotiating her divorce from her first husband, music producer, and band manager Laurence Ronson. She thought Jones was the one straight immediately, but she was cautious due to her perilous legal circumstances.
Ann originally refused Jones because she didn’t want anything to take her attention away from her principal concern: obtaining custody of her three children, Mark Ronson, Samantha Ronson, and Charlotte Ronson. Jones, on the other hand, would not give up and delivered her flowers every day for six months. It was successful, and the pair married in New York. Alexander and Annabelle Jones, their second child, were born. They are also the parents of Christopher, Jones’s first marriage’s son. It is worth mentioning that all of their children have achieved great success in their different industries.
Mick Jones divorced and remarried.
The pair had been blissfully married for many years until Jones’ “rocker lifestyle” took its toll on their marriage in the early 2000s. Jones had a drinking problem, which finally led to his divorce from Dexter-Jones in 2007. The jewelry designer said that the divorce had strained their relationship, and they had not spoken in a long time. Jones had become clean by 2010 and was striving to repair their relationship. There were allegations that the pair ultimately reconciled, which Page Six verified in 2017.
The artist and his wife reaffirmed their vows after a lengthy break, much to the surprise of their children. Jones expressed his joy at being reunited with his true mate. Perhaps he wasn’t destined to be a nomad, since his home had always been with Ann.
