Chip Foose was born in Santa Barbara, California on October 13, 1963. Chip’s father, Sam Foose, worked for Project Design and was an avid car enthusiast. Terry Foose, his mother, was a simple housewife. From the start, he was fascinated by automobiles.
Chip learned to draw from his father, and at first tried to copy all of his father’s designs, which inspired him to create his own designs. Chip enrolled in the Art College of Design to pursue his dream. However, due to financial constraints, he had to drop out in the middle. So he got a job and started working, but his girlfriend Lynn was the one who pushed him to finish college. So, after saving enough money, Chip returned to college and completed his studies.
