Steven Tyler Band Cancel All Gigs For Steven’s Treatment In Rehab After A Relapse

Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler has entered rehab, causing the veteran band to postpone a series of summer shows in Las Vegas, the band said on social media Tuesday. Tyler, whose previous rehab experience is well-known, relapsed owing to pain management while having foot surgery, according to the group in a joint statement. The Boston band, which consists of Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford, is hopeful Steven will be able to play on September 4 at Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor.

The group’s “Deuces Are Wild” engagement at Park MGM’s Dolby Live theatre was set to begin on June 17 and continue through July. Tickets will be refunded immediately via Ticketmaster or may be obtained at the point of purchase. A fresh cycle of residency concerts is set to begin in September, according to the statement.

The cancellation of Aerosmith coincides with Steven Tyler’s treatment in rehab after a relapse.

Aerosmith’s first set of Las Vegas residency dates has been canceled due to vocalist Steven Tyler’s admittance to a treatment facility. Tyler was last seen in public with his girlfriend of ten years, Aimee Ann Preston, on April 3 at a Grammy Awards watching party in Hollywood promoting his foundation Janie’s Fund. Preston, the musician’s former personal assistant, is 34 years his junior.

Steven Tyler sought treatment for ‘pain management and an addiction to prescription medicines as a consequence of ten years of performance injuries’ in 1984, 1986, 1988, and 2010. Tyler’s doctor, Dr. Brian McKeon, claimed his knee and foot injuries had left him in “severe chronic discomfort.”

According to the Emmy nominee:

‘My sobriety cost me everything, I have had many instances in my life when I simply couldn’t manage, whether it was a marriage or my addiction had raised its ugly head, and the rest of the guys in the band are not unlike that.’

The Grammy winner was “in danger” of losing his loved ones after relapsing. Steven Tyler, on the other hand, got support from fans in the comments area. “Remain strong,” one Instagram user advised the songwriter, while another urged, “Get better.”

Aerosmith Tour Has Been Cancelled

Aerosmith’s previously scheduled 2022 the UK and European headlining concerts were canceled earlier this year due to “uncertainty regarding travel constraints and the continued existence of COVID limits and other concerns.” The band was also set to play at this year’s Glastonbury festival, as well as in the 2020 edition. Aerosmith, on the other hand, will not be appearing this year. Meanwhile, Aerosmith announced in March that veteran drummer Joey Kramer will take a “temporary leave of absence.”
