As a result, he was able to gain sponsor’s exemptions to a few PGA Tour events, allowing him to be completely eligible for the 2002 season. In 2005, he also won his first PGA Tour event, the Honda Classic.
As a professional, though, he was unable to get above the average. As a result, in 2005, the golfer won less than $403,000, putting him in 159th place on the money list. As a result of his slide in the rankings, he lost his tour card and was unable to reclaim it at the qualifying school. As a result, he elected to compete on the Nationwide Tour in 2006, finishing ninth in the money standings.
