Fans are worried about Joe Rogan after it was reported that he died this week. The 54-year-old is best known for his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, on which he and guests discuss a wide range of current topics.
He is a UFC commentator, comedian, actor, and former television presenter who is well-known on social media.
When word spread that he had died this week, fans were understandably concerned, but you shouldn’t believe everything you read online…
Joe Regan Is Alive
Let’s put an end to this rumor once and for all. Joe Rogan is not any longer alive. The podcaster is still alive and well in 2022, and it was all a prank on social media.
He posted on Twitter and Instagram seven hours ago, at the time of writing, sharing a screenshot of a strange article about UFOs and pregnancy. So, how did the cruel death hoax get started?
The Death Hoax Is Going Viral
On Tuesday (April 5th), false reports of Joe Rogan’s death began to circulate on Twitter. It appears that it all began when a fake news website called Internet Chronicle falsely reported that the podcaster had died.
“Joe Rogan, host of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, accomplished mixed martial artist, and comedian, died tragically on Sunday from a DMT overdose,” they wrote in a Twitter post.
Someone then posted a fake tweet that appeared to be from the official UFC Twitter account, further fueling the rumor.
“The entire UFC family is heartbroken to learn of Joe Rogan’s death.” “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, and we will make every effort to carry on his legacy” – Dana White, according to the tweet.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that the post has a very obvious spelling error, using the word “she” instead of “and,” which was a dead giveaway that it was a forgery.
By that point, the news that Joe Rogan had died had taken over Twitter, and many other fake news sites had published stories about it as well.
Another Twitter user claimed that his Wikipedia page had been changed to the past tense, implying that the social media star had died.
It was all a hoax, but it fooled a lot of internet users who were convinced it was true. We regret to inform you of Joe Rogan’s death. He died peacefully in his home this afternoon; we will provide more information as it becomes available, in accordance with his family’s wishes.
