What was Tova Borgnine’s Net Worth?
Tova Borgnine’s net worth was estimated to be between $15 and $25 million at the time of her death. Most of her money is said to have come from her cosmetics company, TOVA Corporation, which is famed for its Beauty by Tova brand. The Norwegian native earned a Business MBA from Harvard University before entering the cosmetics business in 1977. By 1991, she was well-known for selling her beauty products on QVC, making her the title “QVC’s First Lady of Beauty.”
Tova was originally in New York studying cosmetics and makeup art. She was married to a New Jersey businessman called Louis Littleton at the time, with whom she had a son. Tova, however, left her company and relocated to Las Vegas after their divorce in 1972. Tova’s Touch is a store she started in New Jersey. After marrying famed actor Ernest Borgnine in 1973, she launched her cactus-based cosmetics business. Following her enormous success on QVC, the network purchased Tova’s brand in 2002 for a “seven-figure price,” according to The New York Times.
According to Entrepreneur, by 2009, Tova had sold over 10 million bottles of the brand’s ‘Signature’ perfume. Millions more must have been sold via QVC by this point. At the FiFi Awards in 1998, Tova Borgnine was voted Women’s Fragrance Star of the Year (Non-Store Venues). Her ‘Signature’ perfume was nominated for the Fragrance Hall of Fame award at the FiFi awards. After her husband Ernest Borgnine died in 2012, the late Entrepreneur was allegedly given access to his fortune. Tova was supposed to get a portion of the Oscar-winning actor’s wealth, which was believed to be worth $15 million. The precise proportion of Ernest’s riches that Tova got is uncertain, given Ernest had four children from five marriages who may have inherited part of his fortune as well.
