Tyler Herro began his senior year at Whitnall High School, where he averaged 32.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. As a result, he was named to the First Team All-State.
Tyler went to his university’s team, the Kentucky Wildcats, on November 14, 2017. At the time, he was the only player who appeared in 37 games and averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Similarly, on February 27, 2019, his team played against the Arkansas Razorbacks, and he scored 29 points to lead his team to a 20-66 victory. Basketball Times named him All-Freshman First Team because of his highest career point total.
On April 12, 2019, he was also drafted for the NBA 2019, based on his college career. The Miami Heat signed him on June 20, 2019, with the 12th overall pick.
