Carol’s wedding received little attention, not on social media nor elsewhere. In June 2019, she married Major Ryan Harmon. Brianna Keilar, Elyse Labott, and Anne Schroeder were among the bridesmaids, according to Politico. Julie Mason officiated at the wedding as well. Adelman, Margaret Talev, Jeff Mason, Kate and Brooke Brower, Erica Werner, Kristen Welker, and John Hughes, Dafna Linzer and Bart Gellman, Elena Nachmanoff, Nedra Pickler, Dana Milbank, and Anna Greenberg, Jerry Seib, and John Garcia were also on the guest list. The ceremony took place at the Hotel du Village in New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Thanks to mutual friends Fernando Lujan and Brianna Keilar, who are also married. They introduced Lee to the guy she would later name her husband, according to the Politico Newsletter at the time. Lee and Harmon met for the first time at a BBQ thrown by Lujan and Keilar. After their initial meet and greet, the two kept in contact and eventually began dating. According to the newsletter, Lee proposed to her spouse over the 2018 holidays.

Before marrying her spouse, the national political reporter had a son called Hudson Lee. The son is possibly from her previous relationship, although this is not confirmed since she has not publicly discussed the circumstances of her previous relationship.
