Bill Cowher’s First Wife Was Died in A Storm

Bill Cowher

Bill Cowher’s first wife, Kaye Cowher, died in 2010 of melanoma. As a result of the incident, he became hyper-aware of the illness and its consequences. However, he was not one to become imprisoned in time as a result of grief. He handled the situation admirably and continued on with his life following her death.

Bill Cowher’s First Wife Was A Wonderful Person.

Regarding his love life, Bill had met his match in the person of his late wife, Kaye. They met at North Carolina State University in 1976. He was a football fan from the start. On the other hand, Kaye was a basketball player. She competed in three seasons of the Women’s Professional Basketball League alongside her twin sister Faye. The league folded in 1981, and Bill married Kaye that same year while he was playing in the NFL. Following the conclusion of her basketball career, she continued to give back to the community in other ways. She did everything she could to safeguard her family’s privacy.

Kaye dipped her toes in a variety of community-related endeavors. She was involved with Family Resources Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing child abuse. Moreover, she also assisted physically and sexually abused children at Allegheny County’s Therapeutic Parent and Children’s Center Downtown. She devoted her life to assisting underprivileged children. And when Bill retired from coaching in 2007, they left a basketball and football field to Family Resources Inc. Bill had decided to retire to Raleigh, North Carolina. Three years into his hiatus from coaching, tragedy struck their lives.

Kaye was diagnosed with melanoma in February 2010. A change in the color of a skin mole had prompted them to seek medical attention, but it was too late. She died five months later, on July 23, 2010, in their retirement home, at the age of 54. According to Bill, she was taken by a “perfect storm.” She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and was undergoing menopause. Cancer entered her bloodstream and took up residence in her lungs. Following the death of his spouse, he became an advocate for melanoma screening.

Is Bill Cowher married right now?

Bill has never spoken about the agony Kaye endured in her final months, but he was fine and happy shortly afterward. During his retirement, he began studying the piano and playing tennis. Additionally, during his December 2011 interview with Sports Illustrated, he revealed that he spent more time with his daughters. Soon after, Bill obtained a New York apartment.

Apart from his day job as a CBS football analyst, he spent a lot of time traveling to visit his three daughters. At the time, his eldest daughter, Meagan, lived in California, Lauren in New York, and Lindsay in North Carolina. Kaye had raised their daughters to be fierce competitors—they all played basketball in high school and college. Shortly after Kaye’s death, Bill met Veronica Stigler, his second wife. At the time, neither of them was looking to date in order to remarry. They were married in 2014. He’d met his match once more—Veronica adores football and the Jets.

Bill listed his Raleigh home, which was to be his retirement residence, for sale for $2 million in 2018. He chose to concentrate on his new life in New York rather than commuting back and forth.
