SZA is a singer who has dominated the music business since her debut in 2012. SZA, who has been nominated for nine Grammys, has released one album and four extended play albums (EP). 1. What is SZA’s full name, and what does SZA stand for?
Solána Imani Rowe is the singer’s real name. Her stage moniker SZA is derived from the Supreme Alphabet of The Five-Percent Nation, an Islamic-influenced cultural organization. Various hip-hop musicians, including Erykah Badu, Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan, Common, and AZ, have been influenced by the movement. SZA was mostly influenced by Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA. The letter ‘S’ in SZA stands for sovereign or savior, while the letter ‘Z’ stands for Zig-Zag, and the letter ‘A’ represents Allah.
2. Where Does SZA Come From?
SZA is from Maplewood, a tiny town in New Jersey. She was reared in an observant Muslim family where she was required to wear baggy garments in order to maintain modesty. She refused to watch TV or listen to the radio.
Despite the fact that her mother is a born Christian, the singer admitted to attending Jumu’ah, the Friday prayer for Muslims. SZA was also not allowed to decorate the home with Christmas trees when she was younger; however, her father ultimately allowed her to decorate the house with little Christmas trees that did not have lights.

SZA attended three separate institutions after graduating from high school. The singer struggled in college because she used to consume pot with her roommate. Both of them failed their courses as a result of this conduct. She eventually landed at Delaware State University, where she majored in marine biology. She was intended to attend graduate school, but she did not do so. Instead, she worked a variety of jobs to supplement her income, including bartending at a strip club and working at Sephora.
4. She despises hearing her own voice.
SZA admitted to Kerwin Frost that she despises hearing herself. During a discussion about her album CTRL, the singer said that she had only listened to a few songs from it and not the whole album. She mentioned that listening to herself was unpleasant for her.
5. SZA Leads A Fit and Healthy Lifestyle
The Oscar-nominated singer wasn’t always able to flaunt toned abs and a muscular physique. She used to weigh more than 200 pounds and used baggy clothing to conceal her physique. She began working out and eating healthily in order to shed weight and tone her figure. When it comes to eating properly, SZA follows a rigorous diet. She hasn’t read anything about meat, dairy, wheat, or sugar. She mostly consumes fish, veggies, and complex carbohydrates, as well as enough water.
6. She Suffers From Debilitating Anxiety
SZA is a vocal supporter of mental health. She has always been open about her mental health difficulties, and she recently revealed that she suffers from crippling anxiety. In the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak, SZA also established a hotline for her followers.
