While there are a few new TV shows to look forward to in 2022, other shows will be wrapping up their final seasons this year.
The only silver lining is that a flood of new TV shows will replace the hole left by one show’s cancellation. This article delves into the five beloved television shows ending this year.
By the end of the year, the following TV shows will have solidified their storylines:
1) Animal Kingdom
The sixth and final season of Animal Kingdom, a TNT original TV show based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name, will bring the story to a close.
Animal Kingdom stars Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, and Finn Cole as members of a criminal family in Southern California. In the last season, some old spirits are anticipated to return to haunt the Cody family.
2) The name Arthur
After 25 seasons, the popular children’s show Arthur, based on Marc Brown’s books, is ending. Arthur followed the exploits of the titular eight-year-old aardvark and his family and friends as they learned lessons about growing up and being nice to one another.
The television series will culminate with four special episodes depicting Arthur and the other characters as grownups.
3) Make a call to Saul.
Better Call Saul, the prequel series to Breaking Bad about sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman played by Bob Odenkirk, has outlasted its predecessor.
Viewers have witnessed Odenkirk’s character mature from a hopeful lawyer to Saul Goodman in the original series as the show prepares for its sixth and final season. His interactions with fan favorites like Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut, Giancarlo Esposito’s Gus Fring, and Hector Salamanca’s Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis) will be missed.
4) Dark-ish
Kenya Barris, the creator of Black-ish, stated on Instagram in May 2021 that season 8 would be the final season of his sitcom, indicating that he has decided to discontinue the TV Show.
The sitcom, which starred Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, followed a Black family’s attempts to maintain their cultural identity despite migrating to a mainly white, upper-middle-class neighborhood.
Black-ish has emerged as a new sitcom classic. Black-ish is in its eighth season, and the series finale has yet to be confirmed.
5) Star Trek: The Expanse
The Expanse, a SyFy network sci-fi epic, has concluded its run. The Expanse, based on Daniel Abraham’s novel series, is set in the 24th century and follows a group of characters as they unravel a vast conspiracy that threatens the fragile peace of the Solar System. Amazon Prime has all six seasons of The Expanse available to watch.
Even though these famous shows are ending, 2022 is jam-packed with new shows beginning with new stories. Netflix, in particular, has a fantastic lineup of shows that are likely to fascinate and engage viewers of all ages. Other networks have exciting titles in the works as well.
